Saturday Night Poker....

Ok, my night to host our usual home "Saturday Night Poker" game.
The usual, 2 games both small stakes.
Side note: I really have to get back to what made me a decent poker player....
Recently, it just seems to me since I have read more books on the subject and it seems to me that I'm more at a cross roads now adays.
Anyway one of my mistakes:AsKd on the button(good steal chance) raise 3X BB SB calls, BB calls
turn 3s Qh Kh. SB checks, BB checks, what the heck I think...is this a trap?
check
turn 5c
SB all-in, BB folds, I have to fold have him on set.. plus to much to call with top pair big kicker.
turns out he's bluffing
I am in forth place w/ low stack and I'm posting what is probably my last hand as I just have enough to cover BB. Wouldn't you know, UTG raises, MP calls and SB calls,
"huh.. I think" lets just watch this since my 7c 2h don t look to good now...
turns out one player loses out and I barely make the money finishing in 3rd. lol
Randy(the crippler) finishes 4th, I hear him say "What there was a third place pay." lol we usually only pay the 2 spots but this Saturday we decided to give money back for 3rd.
It'ss the second game and that usually brings the best of us, but this night the cards just were not there.
This session i finish 8th. Probably my worst finish in a while. However it was not as bad as it seemed. I was at about starting stack 6000, after re buy period and lost half my stack with As10h and lost to Rockets, as we both hit the flush, but Sidwell had the red one.
Anyway (move ahead) Mike goes all-in UTG two hands later and in EP I call this raise (puts me all-in too) with 8d 10d he has j j and it holds up.....shuffle up and deal as I was the dealer after Ian the first man out needed a long deserved break.

These home games are great because the caliber and respect for each other is mutual. There are no nobs in this group which makes it so much fun.
Anyway earlier that week my son's birth day went well. The big 4. Just a quiet family thing.
My wife makes a great Betty Cr.... cake. Oh so moist.
Well enough for today, keep it real
