Well as you can see I finally won my first season match. Funny how the game changes when you actually get cards most of the game. I could not believe the cards |I was getting and it really helped me out right from the starting gate. I never trailed and was very happy to finally get this win.
I am gonna keep track of the hand history to from now on so I can have a better tourney results for us to talk about. It is a work in progress.
Congrats to tante Lise whom avoided the dreaded "Out First" label, but now has a new title, as given by oncle Yves, and that is "River Rat".
I took out mom first when I hit a river card to complete a flush. "What was that you said mom?". "luck xxxx, gg, I believe it was.
Sonya could not make the match. Hope the children get better soon. We missed you. Well actually your money, lol.
I have no report to why Mike could not make it out but I know he does family suppers at his inlaws on Sunday's much as does Sonya.
If you have any suggestions on game times or changing them let me know.
Here my beloved Detroit Lions are celebrating my first season win.

Club Match #5 results
Happy Family Day,
The results from last night's match have been set in stone. Congratulations to Mike on pulling of an incredible come back win.
Those in attendance were Mom, Yves, Lise, Sonya, Mike and myself.
I am sorry to announce that tante Lise has continued a tradition of being ousted first. This was her third time. At one point I was sure that Sonya would surely be out first but she managed to hold on for the fourth place finish.
I ended up being out third and it really looked like mom was gonna walk away with the win. Mike had about 1000 chips left when he made a memorable come back.
I am enjoying the day off today and spending it with the family.
Perhaps I will invite one of Detroit's finest to over see our next Club Match.

Club Match #4 results
I wish I could have called Ghostbuster's on this night.
Well another Sunday has come and gone and the clear leader of the pack is uncle Yves.
He pulled out another fine win this past week vs a small field.
Those in attendance for match #4 were Mom, Sonya, tante Lise, oncle Yves, and myself.
I designated this match to be our first Knock Out Bounty match.
The cards started to roll early in this session as there was a lot of pre flop raises. Even in the low blind 10-20 we saw this season's earliest exit. The victim was my sister, whom raised preflop with position vs my aunt whom called her raise.
The flop came Ac 3h Js
Sonya throws a pot sized betto that flop only to be raised all-in by tante Lise. There was not much thinking and Sonya was all-in too.
Sonya was holding As Jc
Tante Lise was holding Ah Ad
The dust settled and Sonya was our first ever quickest exit, hand 11 in.
"Great" I was thinking to myself, just a tougher hill to climb.
Actually oncle Yves really was quiet early on and had his chip stack as low as 1300 before he made a great hand vs my mom to almost double up.
I can't remember if it was just close to break or just after, but my demise came at the had of Yves.
I was holding Kd 10d, and I'm pretty sure I called a preflop raise from uncle Yves
flop was Ks 7d 5d
He was first to act and he raised pot. I re-raised here to all-in. Without hesitation Yves called and shows 7h 7s.
I had top pair and 2nd nut flush draw and he had trips.
I did not improve, and voila I was goner.
Mom bowed out not to soon after, and heads up was tante Lise looking for her first Club win.
Yves had other things to say about it. He took quick time and in three hands heads up. Before you knew it our quickest Club match was over at just over an hour of play time.
Congrats to Yves on winning the match. A big congrats also goes out to tante Lise on an early tournament that day on Stars that brought her a Pay Day for coming in first in a 3 dollar rebuy tourney.
I am reporting this with the time I have here at Emma's track practice on Monday Nights.
I do not have a set in stone Club match set for this week.

Club Match #3 has come and gone...
Congrats to uncle Yves on winning club match #3
Those in attendance were Yves, Mike, Ginette/Michel, Sonya, Guerts, and myself. Tante Lise could make it for this week's game.
First I would like to thank Gerry for joining. Gerry and I both share the same birthday, and I have known him now for a few years from our home poker club. Welcome to the club.
Action started faster than usual as it appeared everyone at some point early were getting cards. By the time the dust settled we lost our first player about 30 mins in, when Guerts got beat by Mike. I can't remember the exact cards, but Mike make a tough call, and I remember his chat reading something along the lines of "history".
Sonya/Jeff got down, to one point, 600 chips but made a valiant effort doubling up vs Mike when she/he had AA vs AQ. Mike looked like he was in cruise control until the 45min mark. He took 2 big hits and a once 4500 chip count was crippled back to 1500.
As usual uncle Yves keep a quiet profile and slowly built a rather nice chip stack when he ended up winning vs Sonya heads up . He made a st8 on the river, to win it all.
My apologies regarding the payout scheme. It should have been a winner takes all for 9 or less players and i'm not sure why it defaulted to a top three payout.
I have scheduled Feb 13, 2011 @ 7:05PM as Club Match #4. I am having a knockout bounty for this match. Cost will be $10 + $2.50 + $1.00 = $13.50. The $2.50 will but what you can win for each person you knock out. I thought this would be cool.
The word is out and slowly we are getting people top come out of the wood works. I have cousin Yvon (Pat), Mills, and Jeff looking to join soon.
OTA reception for Friday Feb. 4, 2011 and today Saturday Feb. 5, 2011 has been nice
I have been able to pull in Eries 24-1 WJET ABC, 54-1 WQLN PBS, and 66-1 WFXP FOX.
nice to see some more free OTA HD.

Snowy weather comes an goes
Well we had a small amount of snowfall recently but not as much as we had back in December.
I continue to recruit some of the old Boys from our home poker club to come try out the new Poker Stars Home Game software.
It has become so hard to get real home games going like the past so I hope this new software can relive some of the old days.
Very special thank's to Mike M.'s brother Rob for joining today. He will represent the Greater Toronto District. We now have ten members. Actually thank you to all that have joined up to this point.
Don't forget Friday's Club Match #3 scheduled for 8:35PM. This has been agreed with club members, as this Sunday will be Super Bowl.

Cub Match #2
Well thank you for the wonderful turn out for week two. Those in attendance were myself, uncle Yves, mom, Sonya, tante Lise, and Mike.
As usual week two started off slow as we were all playing really tight.
I myself was pretty much card dead, but found some hands and raised them only to get it folded around.
The only notable hand I had worth mentioning was when I called a preflop raise from Mike with a 7h8h. I flopped the straight and managed to get a decent pot vs Mike but the buck stopped there.
Poor tante Lise has been ousted first for the second straight week.
She raised preflop with just below half of the 2000 chip starting stack an eventually ended up reraising. Her KK lost to a back door straight that Mike caught with him holding 1010.
Better luck next time tante Lise.
Sonya, was out for her first match of the season and really could not come out of the gate well, as she was much like me, card dead.
I did however like her picture of Massimo as her avatar.
Uncle Yves looked like he might continue his winning ways as he did build his chip stack up there early on, but lost a big hand to Mike when he flopped a set of Queens only to have Mike staight out on him to.
Mom did well and ended up with a second place finish, but really had a had no chance vs Mike's chip stack.
Congrat's to Mike week 2 winner. A cool 50 dollars profit.
On the OTA front reception from Erie PA has been dismall. I am barely receiving 54-1 WQLN PBS since the winter has come. Hoping the Spring brings better reception.
A Happy birthday with to family member Massimo this month.
Please note there has been a change to Club week three game. It has been moved to Friday February 4, 2011 @ 8:35PM. This is to free up the week end for SuperBowl Sunday.
